Data Driven Dashboards

Background

Artos required a Black Explorer so users could find and validate their transactions on the Aventus Network. The Block Explorer product is a core component of the company's GTM Strategy as they begin scaling up the number of transactions on their Blockchain Protocol and will be publish on the Aventus website at stats.aventus.io.

Problem

The aim of the product is to demonstrate traction and scalability of the system while also providing transparency and technical detail for developers or crypto-enthusiasts. It needed to be able to cater to both non-technical and technical users.

Personas

Aventus Block Explorer

One of the core challenges of this product is handling the complexity of data infrastructure in a way that users can understand and navigate, ensuring that the experience can be carried over to tablet and mobile as well.

Flying Blue Ecosystem Insights

This prototype was created for a sales pitch to Flying Blue, a Loyalty Point Scheme the company was interested in working with. Loyalty Points represent an ideal use case for the blockchain as they cater to tens of thousands of transactions that have monetary value, which could be embodied in a cryptocurrency.

Problem

This interface required systems thinking to figure out how to represent an ecosystem of loyalty point schemes, each with varying quantities of 'Issuance' or 'Redemption'. The user needed to be able to see the whole Scheme at a glance and then dive into the details of a single company.

Manage Events Tickets and Links

METaL was a product that would have been a core SaaS offering of the company, helping event organisers manage and distribute their tickets to attendee's Ticket Wallets.

Problem

This product involved a lot of hidden complexity as it needed to be able to cater to a number of different use cases. The core experience involved creating an event and then distributing tickets, but could be extended to venue allocation, seating plans, tiered ticket pricing, promotions, secondary ticket sales and reporting.

Outcome & Reflection

I have been lucky enough to work on a range of products across different industries over my time at this company. With each iteration I have become much more sensitive to the unique aspects of a Dashboard interface, such as the importance of cognitive load, typography and layout to ensure that the information is digestible.
